We celebrated 40 seasons of family camping at Leadstone in 2013!
Thank you for your interest. Leadstone Camping which is just a 10 minute walk to a "Blue Flag" beach, is a traditional, uncommercialised camping site in South Devon, and one where the owners have built a reputation for their friendly, personal approach and are always ready to help should you have any questions or problems.
Please feel free to email us or telephone (evening calls are ok) for any further inquiries you have.
Everything you need to know about Leadstone is on this web site, however if you would like a brochure please ask. As you browse through our website you will see image galleries on the right hand side (click them for larger pics!) - these give you an idea of our site and also our lovely local resorts of Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, Teignmouth & Shaldon. This page has some pictures of our pitches.
We have 2 great special offers for you here!
A traditional uncommercialised camping site, with a "state of the art" facilities block, beautifully located, near a good beach has never been easy to find - one where the owners have built a reputation for their friendly, personal approach and are always ready to help with your questions and problems. If this is what you are looking for, please read on.
A recent survey of many visitors who return every year showed that our continuing policy of making small improvements to ensure that the site stays quiet, friendly and uncommercialised is just what they require. We are not perfect but we all try very hard and enjoy caring for our visitors.
"Perfick" is how world famous naturalist David Bellamy described Dawlish Warren when he visited in 2007. A mixture of conservation at the Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve and a Blue Flag Beach resort working in harmony to give you an all round experience, wherever your interest lies. The Beach was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for the 18th consecutive year in 2016.
We always have a famously friendly staff to help you and think we have earned a healthy reputation for good value and good service.
While we are primarily a site for tents and motor homes we are also licenced to accept touring caravans.
Every year the site is inspected by English, German and Dutch inspectors and we remain A TOP RATED 3 STAR PARK. One inspector commented that we are "A very attractive simple park employing high standards of care", when asked if we should alter anything replied "Leave it just as it is". Enough said?
Dogs - we are all dog lovers here, Bertie and Jack - our Springers are very popular with our younger visitors however following an incident elsewhere in the area we have reluctantly reviewed our "Dogs Welcome" policy and we are sorry but now reserve the right to refuse admission for some breeds in addition to those listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act (1991) including Rottweilers and Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Irresponsible owners are to blame for this move, so please phone for details if you are concerned.
Well behaved dogs (see above paragraph) are allowed on the strict understanding that they are kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES and exercised off the site. They are welcome on the beach but please follow the signs!
There is a five miles per hour speed limit on the site. Our reputation as a 'quiet' site has been earned, so 'NO NOISE AFTER 11.00PM' means exactly what it says. Sorry, no new arrivals after 10pm.
Our "Specials" are superb value - better value than ever before - so come early or late and fill our pitches!
We installed a WiFi network in 2010 which has proved popular with those who can't bear to be "out of touch". It is available across the site for a small charge - see tariff page for details.
Sarah and I look forward to welcoming you,
PS. For those who like to get organised our 2017 Season is from Friday May 26th until we close on Monday September 4th.
NOTE: Pictures on this website are taken at Leadstone Camping and thanks to VisitSouthDevon.co.uk we have pictures of Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, Teignmouth and Shaldon - all great places to see and enjoy whilst you are here!
